The MISSION of the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Legal Medicine is to provide education on malpractice liability and risk management to AAPA members and the medical community with an emphasis on the provision of safe medical care for all patients.
Terms of Membership:

Note that all members of AAPALM who serve as expert witnesses agree to strictly adhere to the Ethical Guidelines for PA expert witnesses adopted by the American Academy of Physician Assistants House of Delegates.

YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE AAPA IN ORDER TO BE A MEMBER OF AAPALM. We are a special interest group of the AAPA, and as such we reserve the right to cancel your membership if you are not an AAPA member.
Additional Objectives:
- To serve as a conduit of information for PAs and other medical professionals who may be facing legal action;
- To provide information and resources to PAs who are interested in becoming medico-legal consultants; and
- To act as a resource and clearinghouse for attorneys and insurance companies seeking PA experts on the scope of practice and standard of care of physician assistants.
